Hi
Category once mentioned for JEE mains can't be changed for JEE advanced and during counselling. JEE officials have clearly mentioned it in their FAQs section pls check. If you are changing from category to open they will allow it not vice versa and isn't the category and category rank mentioned in your JEE score card. As they will not allow it you will be given seats according to general category only.
