Its depend on his/her potential.JEE advance is one of toughest exam of India,hence it depend on students potential.
I give you a example ,my frd has secured 94 percentage in cbse board exam .he took drop amd studied very hard ,i remember he used to.study day and night but he couldn't got a IIT College.
And another thing that depend is category..
Since there is reservation for obc,sc and st.
