Can I get any nit any branch at 726450 rank

With a JEE Main rank of 726,450, it will be extremely difficult to get admission in any NIT, as their closing ranks for almost all branches are much lower, especially for popular branches like Computer Science, Electronics, or Mechanical. Last year, the closing ranks for General category in top NITs were mostly below 10,000–15,000, and even with category relaxation for OBC/SC/ST, your rank is still far from the cutoffs.

At this rank, it is better to focus on state-level engineering colleges or private universities which have higher cutoff ranks. Colleges like VIT Vellore, SRM, Amity, KIIT, and other private institutions might give you a chance in branches like Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or IT, depending on availability. You can also look for state government colleges in your home state that may have lower cutoffs.

My suggestion is to stay flexible with branches and colleges and apply broadly. Even if you don’t get a top branch in a top college, you can still have a strong engineering education and career. What matters most is dedication and learning after you get admitted, not just the brand of the college.
