Hey,
IT Branch is one of the most popular branches of Engineering. Given the fact that, IT sector is growing rapidly,the job opportunities are also increasing. In private sectors,one has huge scope. For Government sectors,however, you need to clear certain entrance examinations. You can clear GATE and get recruited under Maharatna, Navratna or Miniratna enterprises under the government of India. This job gives the best salary and perks than any other government jobs for the same cadre.
Organisations like BSNL,Doordarsan,Telecom of India etcetera conduct their respective entrance tests to recruit candidates.

Hii,
You cannot get a Government Job through Btech. One must write the GATE exam and score good marks to get the job in PSU'S. Some of the PSU's which accept CS and IT Engineers through GATE Score are IOCL, BBNL, BARC, GAIL, NALCO, HAL, DRDO, NTPC . IT students can also apply for IBPS Bank clerks, Probationary officers and IT specialist officers.
