Can I get NIT for B.Arch with a Air of 3500-4000?
Hello,thanks for asking this question!
JEE Paper-2 is a National-level entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to NITs, Centre Funded Technical Institutes (GFTI or CFTI) And Schools of Planning and Architechture (SPAs).There are 3 parts of the exam : Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing. This year, the NTA conducted the exam in both offline and online mode, with the Objective section (Maths + Aptitude) being a Computer-Based test. Paper-2 was conducted on April 7, 2019 with 2 shifts. About 1,80,000+ candiates had registered for this exam.
The NTA had released the answer key on April 8th, so that the candidates could check their corresponding answers and also calculate the marks scored by them in the Objective section. However, calculating your predicted marks in the Subjective (Drawing) section is a bit tricky, so your AIR may vary from what you had expected. This year, more questions from Calculus were seen, making it a bit tricky for some. Expected questions on identifying top view, side view and elevation (5 questions each) were asked in the General Aptitude part. The drawing part was also very easy. Since your Board exam marks are not considered by the NTA, this may either boost or lower your rank!
If you have an NIT within your state, then you will have more preference and atleast 50% seats will be available if you are from home state. According to last years cutoffs, these are some institutes whose CLOSING ranks fall close to your expected rank. I have also included other state quotas too. All these ranks are from General category only.
NIT,Bhopal - 3235 (home state)
NIT,Hamirpur,Himachal Pradesh - 11202 (home state)
NIT,Patna - 4151 (home state)
NIT,Raipur - 8689 (home state)
BIT,Mesra - 3869
These are some of the institues available, but closing ranks may vary every year, so it can be possible for you to get admission to more institutes.
hi Meghali..
From previous year trends, most probably your rank will fetch you a seat in some good NIT for B.Arch.
All the best
