can i give 12th externally (open) from any college of pune ?what is advantage and disadvantages of external student?
Dear Aspirant,
The option for open examination depends from university to university and from college to college. This concept is daily famous for two competitive exams- JEE and NEET. Here are some advantages and disadvantages of going to a dummy school or giving the exam as an external candidate in your junior college.
Advantages:
- If you have set goal in your mind and you know how to use your time well, this is the option for you. This is great for headstrong self-motivated students who know they goal and how they need to proceed towards it. It helps them to stay less distracted and the study schedule is in the hands of the student. There is no pressure for being in sync with what is going on in the institution. But it is important to follow the routine which is made otherwise, as this would go completely into waste.
- This saves energy and you are simply focused at one place. The need to juggle or balance out reduces and there is more time and efforts which can be channelized into something productive.
Disadvantages:
- This is against the idea of holistic development. The experience of school/college especially in the last years becomes crucial because of their overall development. Other skills are also polished and that builds confidence and self-esteem.
- If you are doing it to pursue a competitive exam, you are limiting yourself to it while it can be so much more. As you are ignoring your skills, you are also ignoring the additional aspects of being a human other than being a professional.
- Though handling everything at once becomes difficult, but that is life and that is also the career opportunities in corporates. If the person lacks social skills and multi-tasking skills while not just juggling the tasks but also personal physical and emotional well-being, it becomes important to have some experience prior to the actual stressful job.
Hope this helps. All the best!
