The syllabus of both the examinations are similar. The difference between the two exams is the examination pattern and the difficulty level. Since CLAT examination caters to admission in a long list of national law universities the CLAT examination is slightly more difficult than SLAT and the participating candidates are more in the CLAT exam. The number of questions in SLAT is less than CLAT and there is no negative marking in SLAT unlike CLAT.
