Can instrumentation &control engineering fullfill my mech. And elec. Interest?what subjects are there to study??
Hi student,
Mechanical and electrical engineering are like apples and oranges. This means that mechanical engineering and electrical engineering are different and you cannot compare them. Mechanical engineering is all about mechanics and machine design and their working whereas electrical engineering is mostly about transmission, distribution and control of electrical energy. Instrumentation and control engineering is a specialised branch of electrical and electronics engineering which focuses on principle and operation of measuring instruments. You will have some elements of electrical engineering in instrumentation and control engineering but not of mechanical engineering. Subjects usually studied under this degree are engineering mathematics , fundamentals of instrumentation, linear integrated circuit, industrial management , application programming, measurement basics , metrology, transducers, mechanical measurements, industrial instrumentation, analogue electronics , digital electronics , signal and systems, electrical and electronics measurements, control system, process control.
Instrumentation and control engineering is a lot similar to electrical engineering and thus can fulfill your interest but the same cannot be said for mechanical engineering.
Good luck
