National institute of open schooling widely known as NIOS is a central education board established by ministry of human resource development and it is valid and equal to CBSE , ICSE and other state boards.

NIOS students can get admission in all schools and univUniveies on the basis of there mark sheets and certificate issued by NIOS.

So,if anyone wants to pusrsue engineering after passing 10th/12th from NIOS boaed,he/she should concentrate more on cracking JEE/other entrance exams,rather than worrying on the authenticity and recognition of NIOS. If you crack JEE/other entrance exams you can get into one of the best government colleges like IITs and other private top colleges such as birla institute of technology, dhirubhai amabi institute etc...
