Can one prepare for IPM and DU-JAT on their own without coaching?

Yes of course, you can prepare for du jat and ipm exams on your own provided you are ready to work hard . Coaching isn't necessary and self study would suffice, provided you have your basics right and have good concentration levels. People usually join coaching institutes for regular practice and the fact that it gives some taste of competition; but self-study is required regardless whether one joins coaching or not.
