SCRA stands for Special Class Railway Apprentice. It is a programme in which the interested candidates are selected by UPSC. The selected candidates are then then given undergraduate training in mechanical engineering in Indian railways. The Institute related with it is Indian railways Institute of mechanical and electrical engineering, Jamalpur. It is Indeed one of the toughest exams in India. The exam has been discontinues since 2015, that is not conducted every year since then.
