For a MBA aspirant reading books is important because of three things. First it helps you be updated with what you are getting into and the world. More importantly it helps you form opinions. Secondly OT gives you an edge over other candidates and thirdly it provides good talking points in an interview. You should not only limit to business related books but try and go for a few classics and contemporary works as well. I can suggest a few on that note if you want.
As far as business related books are concerned you should concentrate on the authors that write them. Because its not about the book as much it is about the author's ideas and thought process when it comes to these kind of books. You can look into Malcolm Gladwell and go for his books like Outliers, David and Goliath etc. Or you can look into Dan Arielly and check out his books like Predictably Irrational. Some other books are Thinking Fast Thinking Slow or you can read Devdutt Patnaik for a different take on the business angle.
