Can we choose two programmes in same college for DU..??
Don't Miss: NIRF DU Colleges Ranking
Hello Avantika Yadav,
Yes ofcourse, even for this I would like to share my personal expierence!!! But applicable for those who have not made a stable decision for the course to opt for.
This was the time dated back when admission in DU for the last year was going, and my brother being full optimistic that he would get the course he want in DU, and keeping the same mindset while opting for courses at time of online application. So, when the final day came for the cut off, he was not able to make it in the first cutoff…. Which cintinues till 3 cut off, but with a very bad luck he couldn’t make it because if just .25% and then he ends up saying if I would have opted for more course then I would definetely hadmade it in DU.
So, hence u can opt for more than 1 option.

The answer to this has been (roughly) the same for a long time now. There are a few things that you’ll need to do:
1. To know the structure of a course you’re aiming to opt for is important as you should be aware of what you’re getting yourself into.
2. The experience you gain during your time on` campus is often a huge factor which makes certain colleges more desirable. Factors like faculty, quality and quantity of placement, societies, crowd, etc add up to that desirability as they create an environment which is not just competitive but also facilitates learning in skills development.
3. Think about what career would you want to pursue. This way you can narrow down on certain courses and as a consequence, colleges.
When courses have an upper hand:
1. Clarity regarding your career
Even if you are forced to study in a not-so-reputed college, you can make up for it by working hard and trying to well in academics and devoting time to learn or better existing skills. This way you can make up for what you had lost earlier by working hard to get into a great institute for post-graduation.
2. Alternate course in the better college is boring
When you have an idea regarding what course you have to pursue because of your interest in the curriculum, there’s no point in being stuck instead with an area you never thought of pursuing earlier but are doing now because of the ‘college-first’ approach.
3. What you want Vs. what you’re getting
If Economics(Hons.) is what you want but your eligible for Hindi(Hons.), it doesn’t really make sense forwards with it.
When colleges have an upper hand:
1. Not much clarity regarding your career goal
Eg. If you’re interested in pursuing Psychology in college but are also eligible for English(Hons) in a good college, you can choose the better college.
2. Related course is available in a better college
Here, you can go for a relatively more-reputed college and make up for what you lost out on initially by doing several courses, internships and building important skills that are sure to give you an advantage in the industry.
3. Generic long-term career goal
If you want to become a Civil Servant, which can be done after almost any course that you pursue at the under-graduate level, you should go for the better college.

Thank you and all the best...
dear aspirant,
You can apply for as many courses you want. However, you CANNOT get admission in more than 1 college or in more than one course at the same time. You can take admission only if you meet the Cut off percentage of the respective college and course.
hope this helps.
good luck
