Can we join in Manipal for BTech course in main branch with out getting good marks in entrance exam?

Yes ofcourse!
Only ifyou aren't getting into BITS, IIT, IIIT-H, or good NITs.
ANDif you can afford it.
The above places still have better placement and education and give your career a likely better start.
MIT does have a more comfortable and clean environment than most NITs. And I love the place now.
As for "character development and life experience", you'll have that any where you go. Its called growing up. You will at every place.
Manipal does have a more enriching and liberal culture, being a student university town.
