I am extremely sorry to tell you dear but your question is incomplete, you didn't mention the exam about which you are asking.
In case if you are asking about JEE examination, then you cannot cancel your application for jee mains January session.
But you don't need to worry at all , you can appear in jee mains april session even after appearing in jee mains January session i.e you can attempt both January and april session of jee mains.
It is totally upon your will which session of jee mains you want to appear for, you can appear in both the sessions or anyone of the January or April session.
It totally depends upon you dear.
