Software engineering is now part of CSE. Although taking CSE in any college is quiet touvh, but the BTech 4 yr course is not so tough.
If you are able to develop the intrest in programming then believe me if you work hard, you may be able to get placement(PPO) in third year itself with very good package. But if you don't have intrest it will appear difficult for you and you may land in lower MNCs companies.
So it depend upon intrest. Hope it helps
