Following are some options:
Research in laboratories to become a Soil Scientist. Nowadays, the Central government has hiked salaries of researchers exponentially even at the level of student research. Example: Ph. D programs at the IITs.
Research in industry, or independently as a Soil Consultant. These are paid higher than academia.
Become a full time Agro sciences professor.
Take management courses at the IIMs and become a food manager. They even have flagship ABM programs that require lower CAT percentiles than MBA aspirants.
