character of fungs............?
Dear Pragati,
A fungus is a type of eukaryotic creature that includes microorganisms like yeasts and moulds, as well as the more well-known mushrooms. Fungi can be found in the air, soil, plants, and water.
Not all members of fungus are harmful, it is found that only half of the members are harmful and can infect the other living organisms.
Below I am mentioning the characteristics of fungi. Please have a look.
Fungus can be unicellular or filamentous.
They are eukaryotic, non-motile and heterotrophic organisms, non-vascular.
They reproduce by means of spores.
They show the phenomenon of alternation of generation.
They can infect the host as some are parasitic in nature.
They reproduce by mode of reproduction either sexual or asexual.
The fungus's nuclei are very small.
Mushrooms, moulds, yeast etc. are example of Fungus.
I hope this answer helps you.
