see biotechnology is an interdisciplinary stream , after completing 12th course you have two option in biotechnology field, you may apply for b.tech in biotechnology which course is of 4 years duration or, you may apply for b.sc in biotechnology which is of three years duration. now coming to the career options, if you want to pursue career in research and analytics in biotechnology you should go for b.sc,  then you have to apply for m.sc or integrated phd to get better career options.

however in case you are interested for manufacturing, production then go for b.tech in biotechnology.
