Hi aspirant,
The reservation percentage of categories for admission under JEE Main reservation for OBC NCL is 27 percent and for EWS category is only 10 percent. So using the OBC NCL ranks as an indicator will give you wrong results as the proportion of seats reserved for OBC-NCL is much higher. The closing ranks for EWS category will be higher than the OBC category.
