There is no straight answer to this. Both have their unique set of advantages.
While both types of MBA- Regular MBA and Executive MBA, get you knwoledge and skills to excel in the field of business administrations, their weightage varies as per the requirement of your organisation and also depending on your area of experience. The major difference between the two MBA programme is that the regular MBA can be pursued by Fresh graduates also whereas executive MBA rpogrammes require specific experience as eligibility criteria. Also, an experience of 12-24 months only adds to the chances of pursuing a regular MBA programme from top B-schools in India, the minimum experience for executive MBA programmes is 2-5 years in majority of B-schools.
Further, the regular MBA prgramme is 2-year full time course and Executive MBA programme is either 1 year full-time or two-year weekend programmes.
The two year full time MBA programme generally brings you a new dimension in your career as it enables you to take manegerial roles irrespective of your academic or work background. Though a relevant background always helps, the regular MBA programmes offer you fresh job opportunities in your area of interest.
Whereas, Executive MBA is majorly pursued by working professionals or mid-level managers who wish to enahnce and sharpen their management and administrative skills in their existing job profile/company. The executive MBA programmes also enables them for lateral placements in their existing working place and also the new working places.
Thus purpose of pursing the two MBA differ and accordingly the weightage depends on the requirement of a particular job profile.
