Define ordinal level of measurement.
Hello,
Ordinal level of measurement is a measurement scale in which data can be ordered and the differences between the orders is not known. These scales are used to express non numerical data like satisfaction, happiness, etc. Ordinal data is a qualitative data and not a quantitative data.
For example a likert scale which we see in all apps and surveys. You have also experienced it. In likert scale there are options like Strongly agree, agree, can't say, disagree and strongly disagree. These options may be given certain numerical values like strongly agree is 1, agree is 2, etc. In this way the data is ordered.
Hope it helps.
All the best!
