An azeotropic mixture or azeotrope is a mixture of liquids that has the constant boiling point. In azeotrope mixture the vapour has the same type of composition as the liquid mixture. The boiling of the azeotropic mixture can be higher or lower than that of any of its components. The proportions of azeotropic mixture cannot be changed or altered by the means of simple distillation.
