The main issues of gender discrimination include:
- Unequal pay - For many sectors from low paid construction works to glamorous movie industry, women are paid less than men in most of the circumstances. As per the recent statistics, women are paid 80% of men's salary.
- Sexual harassment - Even though many laws and movements came along and are continuing for many years, women are still being sexually harassed at home, workplace or literally anywhere. This is a major problem faced by the women.
- Racism - Even though cast systems and racism affects both the genders, it is more prominent in the case of women and they are more often treated disrespectfully.
- Uneven access to education - In many remote areas, women are still not able to get quality education.
- Lack of employment quality - More promotions and higher posts are usually given to men more than women
There are many issues faced by women and these are some of them.
