When the light transmitts from one medium to another medium ,it bends on the basis of the refractive indices of the two media .Dispersive power is a measure of the amount of difference in the refraction of the highest and lowest wavelengths which enters the prism.

Despersive power depends on the

refractive index of the material

type of material

Independent of shape and size of the prism.
