Do girls have any extra benefit in getting admission in nits
HELLO BUDDY.
NO. THIS SCHEME ISNT AVAILABLE ANYMORE.
BECAUSE IT HAD SOME PROS AND CONS. And it was observed that the deserved ones were deprived of their seats. So now everyone is equal.
Hope this helps.
good lcuk
No there is no extra reservation or benefit for the girls in iits or nits.
Lets understand with example of IIT Bombay. Last year , there were near about 53 seats in General category.Out of 53 seats 2 were occupied by girls and rest i.e.51 were occupied by boys. As per the new rules for reservation of girls, 51 seats will be freezed and will be available for both boys and girls. Supernumerary seats(say 8 seats) will be added to 2 seats so that total seats of 10 are available for girls only.
Also, as per the new business rules, girls will compete first in girl only list i.e. for 10 seats.Only when they cannot be accommodated in girls only list, will they be available for competing in Gender equal list of 51 seats, but purely on merit.
Now the big question is how will it impact the male candidates.Lets say a male candidate, this year, has a rank of 52.lets assume there are no girl candidate above this rank i.e. upto 51. He will not be able to get admission,as the gender equal list will exhaust at 51 seats, therefore meaning that the reservation has worked to his disadvantage .He could have easily got admission , had there been no reservation.
Now suppose , in the same situation, lets assume that there is one girl with rank upto 52. in this scenario, this one girl will be placed in girls only list and gender equal list of 51 seats will be made available to next ranker i.e.52.
Conclusion: This reservation works to the advantage of male candidate if there are more girls upto your rank. Lesser the number of girls upto your rank, the more disadvantageous it is.
I hope this would help you. For further queries please feel free to write me down in the comment box.
