The institutes do not require exceptional skills from their candidates. Instead what they look for is passion, and interest in this creative and unique field of study. - Writing and Grammar Skills- All you need is to have knowledge of structuring an article with good correct grammar. This is what you might have learnt during your schooling.
- Technical Skills- Most of the writing nowadays is done on the computers. Hence a basic knowledge of computers like word editors, usage of internet and such is considered a pre-requisite.
- Communication and Social Skills- Basic communication skills and networking skills are important o generate story ideas, to receive tips for a story.
- Some research skills, and passion.
