Do no. of candidates appearing effect cuttoff?
Obviously it does.
If more number of candidates appear, then the chances of more number of students scoring above a specific value of marks increases. Thus,as the number of candidates increase, the probability of the cutoff going higher increases as many students are there in a specific marks range. Also, seeing that number of seats are limited,it only results in the further increase of cutoff.
Hope this helps.
