Do Robert Hooke discovered Cell in a "Self-Designed Microscope" Or it was provided to him by another person?
Hello George!
I did some research on this and what I found out is that the microsope Robert Hooke used to observe cork, that would eventually lead to the discovery of cell, was originally constructed by Christopher White. But in many books and articles, it is written that Hooke used a self- designed microscope. On the basis of this, I can only give a conjecture, but no solid proof, that the original microscope built by Christopher White, had been modified by Hooke, according to the needs of his experimental observations.
Moreover, I would suggest you to follow NCERT only because questions for the examinations are largely derived from it.
