Does a Technical Entry Scheme officer become a soldier

Hello,
Technical Entrance Scheme (TES) entry applicants for boys are invited straight for SSB based on their PCM percentage. They then undergo 5 years of training at OTA Gaya under the Indian Army. Given that it is a technical entrance, it goes without saying that you will be performing some type of technical job, which may be in one of the following army units: infantry, artillery, armoured, mechanised infantry, signals, or engineers .
