The person who told u this that engineering people are not getting jobs will be one of them . it's a fact yes today's time is that engineering people are not getting jobs . but try to find out who is not getting jobs it's not that every engineer doesn't end up with no job it's because people don't have passion for engineering they just do engineering for the degree and anyone does work it reflects on the interviewers because they are the best person who knows about the candidates within 5 mins of verbal interview . And if that would be the situations Nokia and Microsoft are not fools to hire great intelligent minds like Rajeev suri CEO of Nokia is also an engineer and Satya nadella CEO of Microsoft is also an engineer.
Having passion for engineering is different thing rather than getting just a degree . I can understand because their are still people in india who r unable to understand this situation.
what ever u do , do it from ur heart love what u do .

Core branches like civil mech electrical are oldest brances & have no problemes .
