Does creamy layer has benifit for IIT?
Answer (1)
Dear Student,
There's no such creamy layer in the SC/ST category. So whether you belong to a well off family or a poor family you will definitely get a huge benefit in the JEE.
But in case you are an OBC, only those falling in the non creamy layer of the OBC, get the benefit in the JEE. Creamy layer are those whose parents income is above 6 lakhs per annum comes under Creamy layer and those who earns less than 6 lakhs per annum is under Non creamy layer category. So creamy layers are considered to be of general category and thus don't get any benefits.
Hope this might help you.
