Does maths play a part in Biotechnology?

It depends. If you are going for B.Sc or B.Tech in Bio-technology. If you are opting for B.Sc, then maths isn't required but if you are going for B.Tech, it surely does.

Why? Because..

1) To understand the process of sterilization you need to have basic knowledge of integration and differentiation.

2) T o study about fermentator design & upscaling, bioprocesses, mass transfer, metabolic engineering ,biochemistry, biophysics etc.

3) Calculate the composition of any culture.

4) For finding the estimation of DNA

etc...
