Dear Kiran.
The answer to your question depends upon what college's hostels are you talking about. For starters in many college's there is a certain time limit provided after which there is some penalty on your entry. For example in my university the time limit is 7 for girls and 9:30 for boys. Other than this time you can out yourself wherever you want.
