Doing bachelors in India is better or abroad?

Studying abroad is a common dream among many Indian students such that the number of students applying for universities in other countries has been on the rise with every passing year.The Indian Students Mobility report, 2016 noted that about 85 per cent of Indian students looking for colleges abroad tend to head towards USA, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

There are a lot of advantages and disadvantages of studing abroad.

Studying in foreign universities results in well rounded personality development of students. They pick up communication skills, learn to live alone, manage with limited money, adjust in unfamiliar environment and develop high focus on career. So studying abroad develops personality. It brings out the best in the person. The education environment in India is very competitive and can get aggressive sometimes. Students who don't like such environment often opt for studying abroad.

But there's some cons to that too. Studying abroad can be expensive. Parents who send the students aboard for studies must be either rich or need to take a loan mortgaging their assets. With the latter, parents are hesitant as there may not be a return on their investment. Employers in India do not treat all the universities abroad equally. They respect students from top universities and willingly employ them. However, students from other universities are treated as black holes.

So, it completely depends upon you what you want to do. India has so many good Government colleges. And if you study sincerely you can do well wherever you study.

D oing Bachelors in India or from abroad depends on many factors like which course/programme you want to get admission into or which field you want to make career in. It also depends on which institutes you pursue your graduation from. Some of the UG programmes in India are really good and offer good scope of growth too, while for some programmes, it’s still an evolving phase in India and do not have much scope in terms of career.
