Solution : Let the number of members be $x$.
So each member contributes $x$ rupees and $x$ paise.
According to the given information,
$x × x + x × \frac{x}{100}= 2525$
⇒ $x^2 + \frac{x^2}{100} = 2525$
⇒ 101$x^2= 252500$
⇒ $x^2= 2500$
⇒ $x = 50$
Therefore, the number of members = 50
Hence, the correct answer is 50.
