hello there!
I opted electronics and communications engineering in my B-TECH
No doubt, ECE is a evergreen branch. ECE is a core branch that deals with electronics with some communication and a little programming. If you are interested in designing computer chips and how the cell phone works and how the communication happens between electronic devices and how to connect and analyse the circuits in designing electronic components then ECE is for you. analog and digital communication, edc, vlsi, control systems, digital image processing, embedded systems, microwave engineering, antenna and wave propogation are some of the subjects involved in ece.
When it comes to placement there is a huge opportunity to get into companies like intel, cicsco, sony and even the government jobs like drdo, bsnl. Besides there is a great demand in the market for those, who pursue m-tech through GATE. And if you are not interested in electronics field, you can get into IT companies like tcs, polaris, google, wipro… as ece aspirants are versatile. people say ECE is the toughest branch. but it dont really believe it, it only depends on your passion and interest.
hope this helps you.
goodluck!
