few colleges mention that a valid score of mains is acceptable. what is that. is it above cuttoff marks or just below cutoff also acceptable

Hello Nayaki,

JEE Main score is valid for a period of one year from delcaration of result. For example, in 2018 you cannot take admission in a college with your JEE Main 2017 score card if more than one year has passed since declaration of result.

This means you JEE Main result will become invalid or useless after declaration as it will no longer be considered for admission.

Also, it has nothing to do with cutoff marks.
