Hello Dear
No it is not compulsory if you don't want to take the admission in any of the Government Institution. For taking the admission in Govt. Institute like IIT / NIT / CFTI in Biomedical engineering then compulsory you need to score the enough marks based upon the cuttoff and if you wish to take the admission in any private University / College then you need to write that particular entrance exam and based upon your score you can be able to enter it into the Biomedical stream.
