For EWS certificate: My father doesn't hold any land in his name. However we live in the house which is in the name of my late grandfather. My father has 4 siblings. The total area is around 2200 sqkm. So while making EWS, what will be considered as part of my father's property? Am I eligible?

Hello sanatan,
The eligibility for EWS certificate are-
- Candidates Family annual income should be less than 8 lakhs per annum
- The family should not hold more than 5 acres of land
- The family should not hold more than 1000sqft.
So if your land size is less than that, you will definitely get the EWS certificate.
I hope it helps,
Best of luck

Hi. I know the criteria. I am saying that residential land is not in my father's name. My father has other siblings who also have equal claim to the land. So does it means that total land divided by no. of siblings will be considered in the case? Please inform. There is confusion. Because the size of total land is around 2200 sqft. If divided by 5 then it is around 450 sqft. This makes me eligible for EWS. So I am simply asking what is the criteria of father is staying in a joint family and the land is shared by all.
yes, also it's still not your father's property without proper legal documentation, therefore you are eligible for EWS certificate.
