for giving NIT exam...we have to first give jee main exam ???

Yeah definitely you need to first write the JEE mains which is going to conduct by the NTA for getting into the premier institute like NIT / IIIT / CFTI , based upon your obtained rank and branch wise cuttoff you can be able to take the admission in any of the campus of NIT.
