For JEE Main Merit number if candidate belongs to OBC-NCL then how will be seat allotment criteria? Can he consider for OPEN and OBC-NCL categoris both for seat allotment?

Hi,
The seat allotment for OBC-NCL student is done in following way:
- First the Open Category seat is considered.
- If student has rank above Open Category seat closing rank, then that student will get seat.
- If student didn't have enough rank for Open seat then he/she would be considered for OBC-NCL seat.
- If he/she has ranking above closing rank of OBC-NCL then the seat is allocated to him/her.
Apart from this various other factors are also considered while seat allotment like Gender, Home state quota etc.
So , A OBC-NCL student is eligible for both Open and OBC reserved seats.
