As per your query for less priority branches like metallurgy the best NIT would be NIT, Rourkela. It is one of the best NIT's in India and was ranked 126 in Asia. In case NIT Rourkela is not applicable for your rank you can always go for NIT Surat which is also one of the best among NITs. In both these colleges Metallurgy department is sound. Hope this helps!
