from last years report out of 14 lakhs students 8 lakhs qualified. does it means that all of them will get free government seat??
Hi Aditi,
The qualification criteria for any exam means that the lowest marks or rank required to get into any college or institute that accepts the rank of that particular exam.
Now this doesn't imply that every student that gets qualified will get admission in government colleges because they demand top rankers. Among all the students only the top 10% actually gets into the government colleges among various degrees.
If you consider exams like WBJEE that is the engineering and pharmacy examination for the colleges in west bengal, the top 4000 students get into Jadavpur and Kalyani Government Engineering College. The rest get into the private colleges that are affiliated to various other universities like Calcutta or MAKAUT.
Hope this clears your doubt.
