Not all college accepts score card. You can get admission in many private state college which admits without gate.

Yes , some of the top colleges in India accepting gate score .
Gate is also required for private colleges .
Some Colleges accepting gate score for M.E/M.TECH Admission

It is necssary to give gate exam before completion of final year
Hi It is not necessary you can give your exam after the b.tech also .But if you want to give it during your final year , you should be get passed in your b.tech degree at the time of m.tech admission .Thanks

Its not mandatory to pass in gate to get into private colleges. But you may not get stipend if you dont clear gate
