Hello Krishna,
The syllabus of GATE is different for different papers. In all, GATE 2018 will be held for 23 papers, and syllabus for each of these subjects will be unique. You must only follow the syllabus for the paper that you are appearing in, and no syllabus of other papers. Also, each GATE paper will be made up of three sections: General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics (Chemistry for XL papers) and subject-specific.
