AFCAT is conducted by IAF. The eligibility criteria to fill the application form of AFCAT is graduation and the age limit must be 20-26 years. AFCAT is conducted to recruit candidates for -
Flying Branch (Short Service Commission only)
Technical Branch (Permanent Commission & Short Service Commission)
Ground Duty Branch (Permanent Commission & Short Service Commission) which further has two more branches like - Administration, Logistics and Accounts.
The exam is conducted twice every year and the applications can only be filled in online mode. After successfully applying for AFCAT, you will have to download the admit card and appear for the test. AFCAT is conducted in 2 stages - Online test and Interview round. The interview round is conducted by the AFSB (Air Force Selection Board).
There are 100 questions of 3 marks each, -1 mark for every wrong answer. The online test has four sections - English, general awareness, quantitative aptitude and reasoning.
There is an Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) for candidates who opt for ground duty technical branch of IAF.
The process of appearing for AFCAT exam is as follows:
1. Fill the online application form of AFCAT and pay the fees.
2. Download the AFCAT admit card .
3. Appear for the online test and qualify it followed by the AFSB interview and medical round.

AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. This test is conducted by the Indian Air Force for selection of officers in all branches of the IAF (except medical and dental) viz. Flying Branch (Short Service Commission only), Technical Branch (Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission) and Ground Duty Branch (Permanent Commission and Short Service Commission). AFCAT is conducted twice a year (in the month of February and August). The advertisement for the same is published in the months of December and June respectively.
