$a−b = 2$
$a^3-b^3=26$
⇒ $a^3-b^3$
= $(a−b)$$(a^2+ab+b^2)$
⇒ $26= 2\times (a^2+ab+b^2)$
⇒ $13 =(a^2+ab+b^2) $.........(i)
⇒ $(a−b)^2 = a^2+b^2-2ab$
⇒ $(2)^2 = a^2+b^2+ab−3ab$
Putting the value from equation (i)
⇒ $4 = 13−3ab$
⇒ $3ab = 9$
⇒ $ab =3$
$(a+b)^2 = (a−b)^2+4ab = 4+4×3 = 16$
