The percentage of 12th for engineering varies from exam to exam.

To be honest overall 75% is essential for any exam and by overall I mean overall average of all the subjects. But just to sum it up marks in all subject should be above 75. A better way to understand is that it is best to have above 75 marks in all 5 subjects. Which automatically makes it as 75% in PCM and also overall 75%.

Through JEE Main you can take admission in government colleges like NITs/IIITs and CFTIs.

They require a minimum 75% aggregate in overall all 5 subjects to take admissions in any of the NIT/IIIT/CFTI and in order to further application for JEE ADVANCE. For SC/ST students qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class exam. PCM + language + any other subject should be averaged to 75 or above.

You can also take admission in DTU and NSIT through JEE Main only counseling will be held separately. According, to the eligibility criteria you must have secured at least 60% aggregate marks or more in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Through JEE Main some top private colleges also provide admissions in which 75% criteria is not required. You can check the list below
