habitat destruction is recognised as most significant threat to global biodiversity?
Hello,
In this question you have to specify how habitat or one's natural homes are destroyed and thus how this is leading to catastrophic results. Like because of cutting trees we are getting water crisis and drought. Many endemic organisms have very specific requirements for their survival which will only be found within a particular ecosystem, leading to their extinction.
Thus slowly many creatures are going extinct due to human destroying their homes to create their life comfortable. Habitat destruction renders entire habitats functionally unable to support the species present; biodiversity is reduced in this process when existing organisms in the habitat are displaced or destroyed. Habitat destruction by human activity is mainly for the purpose of harvesting natural resources for industry production and urbanization. Clearing habitats for agriculture is the principal cause of habitat destruction. Other important causes of habitat destruction include mining, logging, trawling.
Hope this helps!!!
